PRIVACY POLICY

The short version: Your music never leaves your computer. We don't collect your audio. We don't track what you create. We don't sell data. The only information we handle is what's needed to process your purchase and validate your license.

1. Who We Are

Sozawen is created by Daysha Lindale, an independent musician and software developer based in South Carolina, United States. This policy covers the Sozawen desktop application and the sozawen.com website.

2. What We Don't Collect

Your audio. All audio processing — recording, editing, mixing, mastering, stem separation, lyric transcription, analysis — happens entirely on your computer. No audio data is ever uploaded, transmitted, streamed, sampled, or stored anywhere outside your machine.
Your projects. Project files are saved locally on your computer. We cannot see, access, or recover your projects.
Usage analytics. Sozawen does not phone home. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, no analytics collection.
Your identity beyond purchase. We don't require an account. We don't build profiles. We don't track behavior.

3. What We Do Collect

Purchase information (handled by LemonSqueezy, our payment processor):

Name and email address you provide at checkout
Payment information (processed by LemonSqueezy — we never see your full card number)
License key generated for your purchase

LemonSqueezy's privacy policy governs how they handle payment data: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy

License activation (one-time, minimal):

Your license key
A hardware identifier (Windows Machine GUID) to bind the license to your computer
This information is sent to LemonSqueezy's API once during activation. After that, the app works offline.

4. AI Features

All AI features run locally:

Stem separation — runs on your GPU or CPU. No external API.
Lyric transcription — runs locally via Whisper. No audio sent anywhere.
The Bandmate — connects to a local Ollama instance on your machine. No data leaves your computer.
Key/BPM analysis — purely local computation.

5. Website

The sozawen.com website is a static page hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web traffic information (IP address, browser type, page views) under their privacy policy. We do not add any additional tracking, cookies, or analytics scripts to the website.

6. Children

Sozawen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request what data we hold about you (it's only your purchase record at LemonSqueezy)
Request deletion of your data
Request a license transfer to a new machine

8. Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the changes here with a new date. The core commitment — your music stays on your machine, we don't track you — will never change.
